As you may recall, Life Science Washington began 2018 with new strategic priorities for our association. The issue that topped our agenda, and the one that continues to keep many of our CEOs up at night, is the need to expand the pool of workers qualified and eager to work in life sciences. After eight months of outreach and engagement with member HR leaders, operational executives, and CEOs, LSW has made significant progress on several fronts. Moreover, our work is dove-tailing perfectly with a greater statewide effort to improve career connected learning for K-12 students across Washington State.

China International Import Expo (CIIE)

November 5-10, 2018 | Shanghai

The CIIE is designed to attract exhibitions from overseas companies and organizations looking to enter or expand in the Chinese market. It is being organized as a counterpoint to the well-known Canton Fair in Guangzhou, which focuses on supporting Chinese exports by matching Chinese producers with foreign buyers.

The CIIE will host exhibition areas in the following categories: Consumer Electronics & Appliances; Apparel, Accessories & Consumer Goods; Automobiles; High-End Intelligent Equipment; Food & Agricultural Products; Medical Equipment & Medical Care Products; and Trade in Services (including Education and Tourism).

The event is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It's supported by the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
