PANEL: THE C-SATS STORY: NAVIGATING A SUCCESSFUL DIGITAL HEALTH VENTURE

University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Research Institute spin-out, C-SATS, which stands for Crowd-Sourced Assessment of Technical Skills, engineered a cloud-based skills assessment system using crowd sourcing and AI to evaluate surgeons' operating performance and help them improve their surgical technique. Their unique path to market allowed them to dodge many of the obstacles that slow healthcare startups down. This is their story from company creation, through product pivots, and ultimately a successful acquisition by J&J. A true digital health success story!
