Amy Bernard

The Allen Institute for Brain Science was launched in 2003 and is now recognized by leaders in the field not just for key contributions to our understanding of the brain, but also for changing the way neuroscience research is done. Our scientists collaborate using a ‘team science’ approach, tackling grand challenges, and sharing data publicly across the world in what we call ‘open science.’ Over the last fifteen years, the Allen Institute for Brain Science has created troves of data to define a molecular map of the brain at multiple dimensions, for both human and experimental animal models. Highlights from these studies will be presented, along with glimpses into future work and behind-the-scenes insights into the organizational culture of collaboration that makes these innovations possible.
