Scott Thielman is CTO and co-founder of Product Creation Studio. With expertise leading the development of consumer, medical and industrial products, Scott has participated in all aspects of development for clients including Philips, Johnson & Johnson, and Lilly. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington and is a licensed professional engineer.

Bibianna Cha

Principal Engineer, Panorama Solutions, LLC.

Bibianna is the Principal Engineer for Panorama Solutions, LLC. Most recently, she was the Director of Engineering Programs at Microsurgical Technology (MST). At MST she led the development of ophthalmic single use devices where treatment modality is becoming smaller with technological advancement. She has almost 20 years of experience in the medical device field, leading projects in all aspects of the product cycle.

Bibianna holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.

Andy Choi

Andy Choi

Chief Executive Officer, Amplify Surgical

Mr. Choi has over 20 years of experience in product development and commercialization with expertise in the medical device industry. He has held executive positions ranging from engineering to marketing and sales in start-up settings to Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to co-founding Amplify Surgical, Mr. Choi was the Chief Business Development Officer at CTL and the VP of R&D at Ellipse Technologies and VertiFlex. While at VertiFlex, he introduced a pioneering minimally-invasive technology, enabling interventional physicians to surgically treat lumbar spinal stenosis. He also led the development and the asset sale of a spinal fusion system to Stryker, achieving a 10x return in less than a year from concept to commercialization. For almost 10 years, Mr. Choi also held leadership positions in both marketing and engineering with Stryker Spine and Orthopedics.

Mr. Choi earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and received his MBA from Rutgers University. He also completed executive education program from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

H. Xavier Gonzalez

H. Xavier Gonzalez, MD

VP and Chief Scientific Officer at Olympus Surgical Technologies Redmond (formerly know as Spiration Inc. Redmond, WA)

Dr. Gonzalez has 29 years of experience developing medical tools and devices. He has worked on the conceptualization and development of therapeutic and diagnostic devices for the respiratory, cardiovascular, surgical, electrophysiology and catheterization fields. He holds a multitude of national and international patents on inventions related to medical devices, apparatuses and/or methods. During his industry career, he has been part of multiple start-up companies and for the past 12 years, he has been working for the Olympus Medical Corporation after they acquired Spiration Inc. where he was the first employee (1999).

Xavier holds a degree in General Medicine and Surgery from Ecuador. Before joining industry, he did a fellowship in Cardiovascular Research at Case Western Reserve University through a University Hospitals of Cleveland training program. He works and resides in the Redmond/Woodinville areas since 1994 (a proud east-sider). He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, European Thoracic Society and US Interventional Bronchoscopy Society. He has co-authored multiple abstracts and publications and over the years, have made presentations in national and international medical congresses

Brandon Shuman

Senior Manager, Siemens

Brandon is a Senior Manager at Siemens in the catheter development group. Throughout his 26-year career in startups and large medical device companies he developed and brought to market several minimally invasive, single use, cardiac and pulmonary devices for therapy and diagnostics. He is an inventor on 33 US and numerous foreign patents.

Brandon holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington.
