Join us for the 17th Annual Life Science Innovation Northwest, presented by Life Science Washington. This two-day event in Seattle serves as Pacific Northwest's largest life science conference. Hosted at the Washington State Convention Center, attendees have the chance to experience the best of Seattle hospitality, commerce and life science industry.

We are thrilled to welcome Brad Smith, President and Chief Legal Officer at Microsoft, as this year's keynote speaker. Brad will speak about the Cascadia Innovation Corridor, collaboration between Washington state and British Columbia, and the future tech and life science in our region. Smith is responsible for the company’s corporate, external, and legal affairs. He leads a team of more than 1,300 business, legal and corporate affairs professionals working in 55 countries.


These teams are responsible for the company’s legal work, its intellectual property portfolio, patent licensing business, corporate philanthropy, government affairs, public policy, corporate governance, and social responsibility work. He is also Microsoft's chief compliance officer. Smith plays a key role in representing the company externally and in leading the company’s work on a number of critical issues including privacy, security, accessibility, environmental sustainability and digital inclusion, among others. Smith joined Microsoft in 1993, and before becoming general counsel in 2002 he spent three years leading the Legal and Corporate Affairs (LCA) team in Europe, then five years serving as the deputy general counsel responsible for LCA’s teams outside the United States.

VOLUNTEERS: Volunteer opportunities are open. Ideally, volunteers should have an interest in life sciences, healthcare, research or science in general and can serve at least one, 4-hour shift supporting activities, directional guidance, registration check-in, info desk staffing, and assisting with general event needs. Apply here


All instructions regarding duties and locations will be provided, and complimentary food and beverages are available for the hours corresponding with your work shift. Volunteers are also provided access to the conference for an equal number of hours worked. Priority for volunteer positions go to students and job-seekers. Participation is at the discretion of Life Science Washington.
