The Intern will engage the life sciences community, maintain communication with internal and external audiences, and ensure the organization’s annual communication goals are met.

  • Responsibilities

    The Intern will support the Marketing and Membership team with the following:

    ·         Help manage the overall public relations efforts to raise awareness of WBBA members, the life sciences industry, and the value of WBBA membership

    ·         Assist with the production and distribution of regular external emails, develop text and graphics templates, managing interface with our website

    ·         Work with staff to develop and implement strategies to improve organizational visibility

    ·         Copyedit newsletters, program brochures, flyers and other printed materials

    ·         Help coordinate social network profiles including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, populating with relevant content

    ·         Manage the WBBA member database

    ·         Event planning and speaker coordination

    ·         Additional duties as assigned

  • Requirements

    Applicants must have strong, proven communication and writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media. Only interns proficient with Microsoft Office should apply. Expect to be trained on WBBA’s content management system and design platforms.

Washington State University- NIH Biotechnology Training Program
  • Usually these internships will be linked to a collaboration between the trainee's mentor at WSU and a particular laboratory in a biotechnology firm.
  • All internships must be approved in advance by the Training Program Director to qualify as the student's official internship in satistfaction of Program requirements.
