Life Science Washington’s Government Affairs Council (GAC) is comprised of active Life Science Washington member company representatives, at least two-thirds of whom represent core member companies. Membership on the GAC is by invitation.
The GAC oversees legislation and policy at the local, state and federal levels, and develops position papers, assesses the impact of policy on members, and takes appropriate action via letter, testimony and meetings. The GAC also develops and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee regarding Life Science Washington’s annual public affairs agenda and engages in fundraising for BIOPAC.The chair of the GAC is appointed by the Life Science Washington Board chair and serves on both the Life Science Washington Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Members of the GAC, along with the current board chair and past board chair, serve as Life Science Washington’s Political Action Committee (BIOPAC) Board.
